Emergency Preparedness
Here in Mill Valley we must be aware of earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides, fires, floods and high winds. Are you ready?
Every family should have an emergency plan including escape routes from each room, a meeting place outside the home and a contact out of the area. In addition to a cache of emergency supplies to last for three to five days, you should prepare a "Go" bag for each of your cars. Don't forget your pets!
If you need to evacuate,
proceed to the Mill Valley Community Center lawn.
The first thing to determine in an emergency is whether to shelter in place or evacuate.It is a good idea to have a battery powered radio so that you can tune in for emergency information. Five Mill Valley emergency sirens will alert you to tune in to KQED 88.5, KCBS 740 am or KGO 810am or local television stations for emergency updates. These sirens are tested at noon on the first Saturday of each month, so if it is noon on the first Saturday don't worry.
